Voters

You will not receive a voter card from the City of Yorkton. You will be required to fill out a Voter's Registration form in order to vote. We encourage you to print the form and fill it out prior to attending the polls, to make your voting experience quicker.

Who can vote

You are eligible to vote if you meet the following criteria:

You are a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age on the day of the election;
You have resided in Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months; and
You are a resident of Yorkton or you have owned assessable land within the municipality (in your personal name) for at least three consecutive months.

What do I need to vote

When you go to vote, you must bring either:

A government-issued photo ID that shows your name and address; or
Two pieces of ID, one that shows your name and another that shows your name and address.

All voters are required to complete a Voter's Registration form. You will not receive a voter card from the City of Yorkton. You can fill in the first page of the form ahead of time and bring it with you, or fill one out at the polling station.

Mail-in ballots

Eligible voters can apply in-person at the Election Office for a mail-in ballot. Once registered, the ballot package will be given to you. Registration forms to request a mail-in ballot can also be found here.

Applications will be accepted by regular mail to P.O. Box 400 Yorkton, Saskatchewan S3N 2W3; or by email to elections@yorkton.ca until October 29, 2024 and in person until November 12, 2024.

Mail-in ballots must be received at the Election Office before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
